‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ by Junior Parker

This is mindblowing! Stripped of the prismatic splendour and filtered completely through a solemn, thrumming bassline and a singular voice, it’s more like a lingering reverberation or a ghostly echo of the original. Even more affecting when coupled with the knowledge that Parker died on the year of the record’s release. One of the three Beatles covers on this 1971 album.

Easily the best Beatles cover of all time. The Chemical Brothers have been starting their sets with this for years and it still kills every time. Big big love.
